Finnair plans to grow its operations and services during the winter season of 2018-2019. The airline added the flights to the existing routes in Lapland, Russia, and the Baltic countries. Additionally, Stuttgart and Lisbon will become year-round destinations.
The Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair Juha Jarvinen said, “Our growth will continue next year with over 100 additional weekly flights compared to the current winter season. We are also steadily increasing the capacity on our Lapland routes for next year’s winter. Nearly 30,000 seats will be added compared to this winter.”
Services Provided To Most Winter Destinations In Finnish Lapland:
- Finnair will operate both Kittila and Ivalo, two of the most popular winter destinations in Finnish Lapland.
- The additional daily non-stop flights will fly during the 2018-2019 winter seasons.
- Along with this, the flights to Lapland airports have been aligned with more convenient connections and increased options for customers.
- The direct flights will fly to Lapland from London Gatwick, Paris and Zurich.
- This will also continue for the winter season of 2018.
Flights To Stuttgart, Lisbon & Other Destination:
- Finnair will fly Stuttgart and Lisbon from April 23 and June 1
- The flights will continue during winter season and become year-round routes.
- A daily flight will fly to Stuttgart and the Lisbon flight will be operated 3 times per week.
- A year-round route with 2 weekly flights will fly to Nanjing, China during the winter season.
Flight Between Europe & North America:
Finnair is adding a new daily overnight flight to Moscow. This will improve the connections for Russian passengers those will travel between Europe and North America.
- Apart from this, the airline also plans to provide its services to St. Petersburg as with a larger jet aircraft.
- Along with this change, airline will add approx. 600 additional seats per week on the Petersburg route.
- Both Moscow and St. Petersburg will be operated with 3 daily flights.
Finnair is also adding a weekly frequency on Sundays for both Riga and Vilnius in Baltic region. The airline will also operate 19 weekly flights to both destinations during the 2018-2019 winter seasons.
