Turkish Airlines is a carrier airline of Turkey that is situated at the Atatürk Airport in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, and Istanbul. The airline flies across 280 airports in 110 countries like Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Africa, etc.

The free baggage allowances are set by the Weight Policy for travel on domestic flights. It depends on the Limit of the total weight of the baggage.

Excess Baggage:
If the weight and dimensions of your baggage are exceeded, then extra charges will be applied. The variations occur in fees of excess, oversize, and overweight baggage according to travel.
Lost and delayed baggage
Contact the Lost Property Office if you are unable to find your baggage at the end of your flight. Once your baggage information is recorded, the airline will provide the reference number. Enter the reference number into the online lost baggage track and monitor the status of your baggage.
- Within the first 5 days, the search for lost baggage is the responsibility of the airport Lost and Found Office.
- If you did not get the baggage within the 5 days, then visit the baggage irregularity report and make a claim with the required documents.
Damaged baggage/missing possessions
If you notice that your baggage is damaged at the airport, then contact the Lost Property Office. Your general information will be recorded and a “Damaged baggage and/or missing possessions report” will be issued.
If you notice your baggage is damaged or missing after you have left the airport, then go to the baggage irregularity report. Follow-up the page within 7 days and make a notification of your missing or lost baggage.
Compensation for expenses incurred due to missing baggage:
The airline will write a lost baggage report and offer you the essential need pack if the reason for your missing baggage is whatever. If you received your baggage late, you can make a claim via the baggage irregularity report. You must make your claim within 21 days of receiving your baggage.
Misplaced baggage
The airline keeps a record of all your property, whether you left it behind in aircraft, service counters, or at the Lounge. Contact the airline to find out the latest status of your lost property.
Sport Equipments
The airline allows you to carry your first set of golf or skiing equipment free of charge. They also allow carrying one set of diving equipment per person free of charge on flights to and from the Seychelles, Male (Maldives), Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.

Musical Instruments
The airline allows carrying the musical equipment to your destination in order to continue to make your travel easier and more even more enjoyable.
Carrying musical instruments in the cabin:
Transporting musical instruments in the cabin follows the standard carry-on baggage rules.
- The size of your instruments like guitars, violins, and saz do not exceed 118 cm and you can also carry it in the cabin free of charge.
- Passenger can carry the cello into the cabin as paid carry-on baggage. But the size and weight is not more than 140x42x25 cm and 75 kg respectively.
- To carry the cello into the flight makes reservation at least 48 hours as paid carry-on baggage.
Musical Instruments In Cargo Hold:
Large instruments can be transported in the cargo hold and must be packed in a hard case. A label marked “Fragile” is attached to your instrument case. But be sure that the baggage allowance is not exceeded because it may incur an excess baggage fee.

Special meal requests are provided at least 24 hours before departure. The airline served the “welcome drinks”, snack service, hot or cold breakfast and meal service. They also serve the soups and prepared and cooked food according to your wishes.

Turkish Airline For infants:
- Those children, who are the age of 2, are not required to have their own seat. They must have to travel with an infant.
- The age of 15 years or above adult can held the passengers on their lap.
- If two or more infants are traveling who is under the age of 2, a seat will have to be purchased for the additional infant.
- You can also purchase a seat for your infant as long as you have the proper child restraint device.
- A ticket will have to be purchased for the infant who is over the age of 2.
- Lap children or infant are not allowed to sit in an exit row. The passengers in an exit row must be at least 15 years of age.
Turkish Airline For Minors:
- The children who are traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be unaccompanied minors.
- Airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.
- The children who are 7-12 years old have to travel with an adult.
- Children ages 13-17 years are not required to travel as unaccompanied minors.
Turkish Airline Pet Policy:
Pets can travel in the passenger cabin. Pets that meet the following situations can travel in the passenger cabin:
- The kennel must be made of the full comfort zone and also so adjustable under the seat.
- Only dogs and cats are allowed.
- The animal carriage does not more than 45 x 35 x 23 cm.
- The weight of the animal with the kennel must not exceed 6 kg.
- Passengers must have the animal’s health certificates.

Traveled with a tour group. Plane clean and we’ll maintain. Crowded but no more so than other airline’s economy section. The flight attendant staff was very nice. Food is acceptable. Nice entertainment options.

I flew from Houston to Istanbul. The service, the flight, the food and flight attendants were all excellent. But there was some sort of air-freshener sprayed into the air in the cabin that irritated our eyes. The bags of slippers, toothbrushes were very thoughtful and were used.
